Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 6, 2026

1. Who We Are

Chat Wars is operated by JMCA Studios. Contact: Joe@JMCAStudios.net.

2. Information from Streamers

  • Email address and securely hashed password (we never see your password).
  • Display name, channel name and platform.
  • Game settings, match history and statistics.

3. Information from Chatters

When a viewer enters a match by chatting in a streamer's public channel, we use their public username and public profile picture to display them in the game. For signed-in streamers, we store each entrant's public username along with wins, entries and placements to build that streamer's chat leaderboard. We do not collect private messages or any non-public chat information. Known chat bots are excluded.

4. How We Use Information

  • To run matches, overlays, leaderboards and streamer analytics.
  • To manage accounts and send account emails such as confirmations and password resets.
  • To provide support and keep the Service secure.

We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.

5. Local Storage

The dashboard and overlay stay in sync using your browser's local storage on your own device. This data stays in your browser and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

6. Third-Party Services

We read public chat from Twitch and Kick, and may load public profile pictures from those platforms or public avatar services. Account and leaderboard data is stored with our hosting and database provider. These services have their own privacy policies.

7. Retention & Your Rights

We keep account data while your account is active. Streamers and chatters may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their data — including removal from a leaderboard — by emailing Joe@JMCAStudios.net. Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or CCPA), you may have additional rights, which we will honor.

8. Children

Chat Wars is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child's information has been collected, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes

We may update this policy and will revise the date above when we do. See also our Terms of Service.
